Ruidoso NM

Travelled to the lovely little town of Ruidoso, NM.

Played 1-2NL at Inn of the Mountain Gods on Thursday, Oct. 23rd
Mostly even until last hand, A-Q, flops has A, aggressive guy bets $25, I raise all-in to $57(?) He flashes an ace and I tell him I got one too. Table my A-Q, he looks disgusted and won't show, he's done this several times already and when he hits a better hand he shows. Turn in a Jack and then he flips over his A-J for 2 pair. I'm done, I look again and think I see my flush hit on the river but alas I only have 4 spades........

Tourney going on in lobby ($330 buy-in) which you had to win a seat into. So I sit down at a brand new 1-2NL table. Buy-in for $100. Some loud mouth bitch comes in and is giving the dealer a hard time and he's having no part of it, when she asks where he wants her, he points out the door. LOL. I make a smart ass comment about her just giving me her chips. After she sits down with her chips, dealer reaches over and grabs her chips and puts them in front of me. He's just messing with her now. She's too stupid to realize what the dealer did. Borrows a $100 from a "friend" across the table and says I'll give it right back to you. She never does. Dealer finally moves her chips back to her, and she promptly looses not only all of her chips, but the $100 from the guy across from her too. When she leaves, she says she'll be right back, but instead she takes off.

I play tight for 6 hours and get my stack up to $400 before I cash out and go find the wife for the journey home.
Rest of the trip in OKC.

Busted out before 1st break at Firelake.
Lost $100 in 1-2 at Firelake.
Won $250 at Riverwind in 1-2.
Lost $100 at Riverwind in 1-2.

Win @ Lucky Star

Played really tight in the $30 Sunday tourney, over 100 runners.

Placed 5th for $350.

UN-Lucky Star Casino 2

Holy Cow. Can I win a fucking hand???

Lost a monster pot in the 2pm tourney when my A-K of spades with royal flush and straight draws and 2 pair. Got rivered with a lower straight and lost all but 175 of my chips.

two hands later all-in with A-6. Flop comes 9-9-x. Turn 6. River 6. Cool sixes full of nines. Old guy to my left has a nine. Damn.

Should have just got up and left completely but no.

Bought into the cash game. Still can not win a hand. Lose with 4-4, 6-6, 9-9, J-J, Q-Q, K-K. Holy crap. I am out of here. Down $300.

Lucky Star Casino - Concho

Last night I went out to the Lucky Star Casino in Concho. about 30 miles from OKC airport.

Had to wait for about 30 minutes for a seat at a 1/2NL table.

Not much to report except the pocket pair hand. I have about $90 of my original $100 buy-in.

Raised to $10, get 2 callers, I look down at Q-Q, call, re-raised all in for $60 by girl 2 seats to my left, re-raise by Bill(old guy) to $120, re-raise all-in by Mike(?) , several folds, I fold, Bill calls.

Folded hands were, 7-7 two to my right, J-J one to my right, Q-Q me.

Remaining hands were: lady 2 to the left had 9-9, Bill A-A, Mike K-K.

Flop all 3 diamonds - Bill has A of Diamonds

Turn diamond and Bill rakes a monster pot with his Ace high flush.

WOW. WOW. WOW.

I end up turning a profit, left up +168.

PokerStars $5+.50 Single Table Sit-n-Go

Won the 1st pot.
4th or 5th hand - got almost felted when my Queen high flush ran into King-high Flush
All-in next 2 hands double up to 400. Crap...crap...crap.

Slowly work my way back into contention, become chip leader with 3 left. Knocked 1 guy out with A-A, then heads up - down I go, Loose a race and I'm short-stacked, done it with the dreaded A-10 after it fails to improve over 8-8.

2nd Place.

Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino, Eagle Pass, Texas.

August 22nd (Friday)

Played in a $3-6 limit game when we arrived Friday night(late) . Several unremarkable hands and I am up for a while before crashing and buring with QQ, 99 and A-K.
So instead of ending the night up $60, I end up down about $60.

August 23rd (Saturday)

Played in the $100 +25 3PM tourney. Additional $10 for an extra 1K tourney chips. 15 players total. Managed to play very conservative and watch people bust out. Won a big pot at the final table to put me into contention, 8-8 raised to 3200, All-in for 5200 on the ugly K-10-X after it was checked to me.

Got down to final 4 with Dub (my co-worker Jerry's son), an older gentleman with glasses and a nice guy about my age wearing a dewrag. Win a nice pot with a semi-bluff of all-in on a A-6-5 flop while holding 4-3. Dub gets busted out in 4th and get the consolation price of a nice windbreaker-type jacket. I'm getting short-stacked and get put into a bad all-in situation where I have 8s-3h, old guy calls with Q-J(?) and I flop a flush draw and it comes on the river for a double up.

Old guy gets all-in with Q-7 against dewrag's Q-Q and it's down to the final two.

He has about a 3-1 chip advantage so I need to get something going quickly. We get it all-in with me having Ad-3d and him having 8-8. Flop comes X-X-8. So I need lots of help. Turn is a blank, so I'm dead and then the river is another 8 giving him Quads. Can't do anything but say "very nice hand".

Payouts were $750 - $450 - $250

So I made $315 playing for about 2 1/2 hours. Not too shabby.
Mainly this blog is going to be a record for me of how I do in poker events that I play in. I don't get to play live much but I do go to Vegas once a year and have just found a nice little poker room about 300 miles from where I live.(Only one in Texas right now)
1st post on my new blog.
